E.ON ENGINEERING ACADEMY WEBSITE LAUNCHES TO DRIVE COURSE UPTAKE

Objective

To develop a content strategy, design and build a website for E.ON Engineering Academy in order to drive uptake of courses and raise awareness of the Academy. Requirements include understand potential user requirements, respond to user needs and actively measure course take up. Critical users can find the information quickly and easily.

Solution

As an approved E.ON supplier Rok was commissioned to design and build the E.ON Engineering Academy Website. The Academy offers innovative and engaging technical training programmes including apprenticeships for the utility, manufacturing and heavy industry sectors most of which result in nationally recognised qualifications. The structure of the information architecture Rok put in place provided a scalable and future proof website. The main navigation is extremely user friendly. Visitors can effortlessly browse their way through all of the site’s many courses, find out details of those that interest them and contact E.ON to book their place. Because we have built a scalable site an online booking function can be easily implemented at any point in the future. Using Rok’s own RokIT Fuel we built a bespoke content management system, which after in house training, the administrators were given access to restricted areas of the site allowing updates to be made easily. With strict brand guidelines, limiting areas of access guaranteed the look and feel could not be altered.

The back end code was built so that the course uptake was measurable and contact information provided a database for future marketing. By working closely with E.ON we ensure we are providing the best possible solution utilising the latest technologies available.

Results

The website generated new enquiries and course uptake increased significantly.
